Saint Soldier International School celebrates Republic Day

A rich and colourful Republic Day was celebrated in Saint Soldier International School, Sector 28 B here. The National Flag was hoisted by the Chairman Ravinder Pal Singh Hayer. Director Jagwinder Pal Singh Hayer was the guest of honour.
NCC cadets presented the salute. Students presented patriotic songs and performed on the foot tapping dances. Teachers were not lagging behind as they sang “Sare Jahan Se Achha” in chorus. Principal Vijaya Sidhu blessed and congratulated the staff and students. Sweets were distributed to the students.

Damanpreet, Pawan and Bhavya win titles

Damanpreet Kaur of Sri Aurobindo Model School, Sector 27 A, Pawan Kumar of St. John’s High School, Sector 26,  A and Bhavya of Bhavan’s Vidyalaya School, Sector 27 B were declared winners in categories A, B and C, respectively in Inter School Poster Making Competition Inter School Poster Making Competition held in Saint Soldier International School, in  Sector 28 B here today.
The contest was organised to create awareness amongst school students to save Mother Earth. The theme was Changing Face of Earth. Fifteen teams of various schools participated and displayed their talent to convey the message through their posters.

Mini 2011 Olympics for Tricity Students from Oct 7

An organising committee, with former Haryana Director General of Police Dr Mahinder Singh Malik, IPS (Retired) as chairman, has been formed to successfully host the Mini 2011 Olympics for Tricity School from October 7  to 10.
Former international shooter Rana Gurmeet Sodhi has been nominated as patron and Vikas Dhahiya will be organising secretary.
Other members of the organising committee are: Joint secretaries: Amit Hans, Sumit Khanna. Vice-chairmen: Col AS Judge, Ravinder Talwar, Jagbir Singh.
Executive members: Maha Singh, TPS Puri, Surinder Mahajan, Parveen Sharma, Rakesh Bakshi, YP Vohra, Harish Sharma, Ravinder Singh Bawa, Harbhushan Gulati, Jugraj Singh, Vijay Jaiswal, Gursharan Singh, BL Malhotra, R Sharan, Balwinder Singh Johal, Ram, Yadwinder Singh, Vaibhav Sharma, Gajendra Singh, Rajeev Ranjan, Bhaskar Bansal and Swati Singh.
Competitions to be conducted in netball, archery, hockey, football, badminton, basketball, volleyball, kho-kho, dancesports, tennis, cricket, cycle polo, handball, skating, table tennis and table tennis.
The first meeting of the organising committee was held at The Banyan Tree School in Sector 48 here. Presiding over the meeting Dr Malik applauded the efforts of Chandigarhschools.com for initiating this grand event. The Mini 2011 Olympics for Tricity schools (Under-19) is been hosted under the patronage of  Chandigarh Olympic Association.
Organising secretary Vikas Dahiya said that the Mini Olympics bears a unique logo of 'Students-Sports-Spirit'. The organising committee is getting full support from Haryana Governor Jagannath Pahadia, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda,  Adviser to the Chandigarh Administrator KK Sharma, Chandigarh Home Secretary Ram Niwas, Chandigarh Finance Secretary VK Singh,  Chandigarh DPI (Schools) Sandeep Hans.

Healthy diet and salad making competition

Healthy diet and ‘Salad Making Competition’ was held in Saint Soldier International School, Sector 28 B, here where students of class IX and X used creative and innovative methods to create their own recipes.
These recipes were for right from a mother a player, a teenager to an infant. Catchy captions were given to the salads. Rattan Chand and Guransh were adjudged the best in salad making. Inter class VII speech competition was also held for classes VII & VIII. The topic given ‘How to fight obesity’ and ‘Importance of Healthy Diet’. Isha Chaudhary secured Ist position in VII and Pooja Vashist in VIII. Students were really enthralled by the experience.
INTER SCHOOL MATHS QUIZ
Inter School Maths Quiz was held in Saint Soldier International School, where 6 rounds were held comprising of mental ability, geometrical shapes, number pattern, conceptual problem, fast track and true/false. Ashutosh emerged to be the best student in Mental Maths.

Farewell to class XII and XI at Golden Bells

Students of Class IX & XI of Golden Bells Public School, Sector-77, Mohali organised a colourful, entertaining and heart touching farewell to outgoing students of class X & XII.
Chairman of the school, Col. C.S. Bawa (Retd.) presided over the function. The party was started with a welcome speech by Jyotmeen of class XI.
Students of class IX performed a beautiful choreography in the form of fusion. Various games were played for the entertainment which includes musical chair, hoopla, punch line, thread & needle etc.
Beauty of the event was enhanced by fabulous Punjabi folk dance by boys of class IX & XI. All the students danced together with zeal and gust. After this jovial dancing, catwalk round was set up to choose the Golden Boy & Golden Girl of the school.
The school chairman presented the title of Golden Boy to Japinder Singh and Golden Girl to Monisha Kumari. Well dressed boy and well dressed girls titles were respectively won by Rajesh and Rishul Sane.
The party culminated with a sumptuous lunch.
At the end, director of the school, Mrs. Gurjit Bawa wished the outgoing students for their forthcoming exams and blessed them for better, healthy and prosperous future. She also thanked the staff and students of class IX & XI for organizing a memorable farewell party.

Golden Bells lift Indo-Nepal Table Soccer Trophy

Ten students of Golden Bells Public School, Sector-77, Mohali brought laurels to the school as well as to the country by winning 4 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals and overall trophy in the Indo-Nepal International Table Soccer Championship held at Nepal from December 26 to January 1. The meet was organised by Asia Oceanic Table Soccer Confederation in association with Table Soccer Federation of India.
The Golden Bells students who bagged medals were: Gold: Pankaj Jandwani, Antarpreet, Lovenath, Kulraj.Silver: Sagar Sharma, Nikhil Arora, Sahil Modgil, Karan Tamang. Bronze: Darashjot Singh and Gurjant Singh.

‘No’ to celebrate Lohri in Golden Bells

MOHALI, JAN 13Golden Bells Public School, Sector – 77, Mohali has decided not to celebrate Lohri to express grief in view of the unfortunate death of the five year old boy Khushpreet Singh.
Students and the teachers of the school lightened the candles to pay tribute to Khushpreet and prayed God for Khushi’s departed soul to rest in peace and his parents may get justice.
Chairman of the school, Col. C.S. Bawa (Retd.) said that every year the school had celebrated Lohri in a unique way, but this time to express solidarity with Khushpreet Singh’s family, school is not going to celebrate Lohri in grief. He further alerted all the students to beware of strangers and also requested to the parents to give time to their loving children.
