Local St. Teresa Convent School, Sector 25, organised an Orientation Programme for the teachers in the school premise which was done by expert Ms. Shelley Chugh. She introduced new concepts incorporating the latest methods and technology.
They were also provided with information which helps them to increase their knowledge of things around them and be in a position to share it with students.
Interactive group discussions were also held to train students with educative ideas. They stressed on “activities based learning” which make lessons interesting. Further new methodology was also discussed to train students so that they can disintegrate big complex problems logically.

Rahul, Komal, Simaranjeet, Varsha, Arun and Puneet best athletes

Rahul Dahiya and Komal (both VIII A) , Simaranjeet and Varsha Sharma, Arjun Thakur (XI IT) and Puneet Kaur were declared best athletes in under 14, 16, 19 categories, respectively. They were presented presented awards today during the Appreciation Day function of St Soldier International School in Sector 28 here today. Chairman Gurdev Singh Hayer distributed the prizes.
The Appreciation Day was organized with a view to appreciating the efforts and hardwork of the students in both academic field and in co-curricular activities.
The students were awarded for their excellent performance in different fields i.e. academic, sports and for co-curricular activities. Dimple Sharma (VI), Diksha Pundir (VIIA), Naman Goyal (VIIIC), Gaurav Ahlawat (IX), Divyakant (Non-Medical) from the Secondary Section were awarded with the All - Rounder Trophy. The students who bagged first, second and third positions in their respective classes were awarded with cash prizes. The Best House Trophy was bagged by Ravinder Nath Tagore House
Principal Ms. Sudesh Choudhary thanked the parents for their co-operation. She also applauded the students for putting in their sincere efforts. She advised them to learn from their past, plan for the future and live in the present. She further added that success comes to those who are willing to do and dare to do.

Saplins planted in Golden Bells School

Golden Bells Public School, Sector-77 today took part in Environment Protection Campaign under the aegis of Environment Protection Society, S.A.S. Nagar (Regd.). The office holders of Environment Protection Society, S.A.S. Nagar namely S.R. Chaudhuri, President; Bhupinder Singh, Vice-President; and R.S. Baidwan, Secretary visited the school and planted 100 saplings in the school lawns. They have been participating in National Environment Awareness Campaign for the last 12 years under the sponsorship of Government of India, Ministry of Environment and Forest.
In order to involve the young learners in this welfare work and to make them aware about environmental issues, they hold annual competitions in the month of July-August every year in the schools of Mohali. So far, they have planted several hundred saplings of various kinds of plants in various schools as well as areas protected by PUDA authorities.
Environment Protection Society, S.A.S. Nagar works with the support of Punjabi State Council for Science & Technology which is the nodal agency for coordinating the work of various N.G.O.’s in Punjab.

Performance Day at Shemrock Smiles

Tiny tots of class playway and mont-II gave colourful presentation on the second day of the Performance Day at Shemrock Smiles, MDC, here today. Children put their efforts in different cultural items. They were seen enacting their role in the little and message giving acts in Birbal outwits all and little Lambkin. Their dialoge delivery and accent was excellent.
The dancing performance won the the hearts of audience by showing their dancing skills and actions.
Earlier the lamplightening ceremony was performed by Mrs. Usha Talwar who was chief guest on the occasion She enjoyed the programme and observed the confidence level of these little children. The function was concluded with the tunes of National Anthem. Director of the school teenu jolly appreciated the efforts put by children to make this function successful.

Golden Bells students excel in essay writing

Kawalpreet Kaur (class 6 to 8) and Ravinder Singh (class 9 to 12), both of Golden Bells School of Mohali won first positions in their respective categories in story writing (Me and My Planet) competition organized by Chandigarh College of Education, Landran.
Such functions aim to develop scientific attitude among students. Golden Bells Public School has been striving for the upliftment of the students to develop awareness of science among them.
Keeping in view the importance of science in today’s life, National Science Day was celebrated at Chandigarh College of Education, Landran. Various competitions for schools and colleges were organised related to science. Some plays related to science were also staged.
Golden Bells also participated in story writing and cartooning competition in different categories.
