Republic Day was celebrated in Shemrock Smiles Preparatory School here with great enthusiasm, zeal and partiotic fervour. All students participated whole-heartedly in the celebrations and presented various patriotic songs, dances and other items. A number of competitions like colouring the “ Tiranga” and drawing and colouring the various National symbols etc. were held for students.
Director Mrs. Teenu Jolly told the children about the constitution of our country and also about Dr. B.R.Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution. With their faces painted with the colours of the Tri-colour and waving the National flags in their hands the children looked big little responsible citizens of the future having great pride in being Indian.
The school was also decorated with saffron, white and green buntings and ballons giving at all a very natiolalistic flavour. The staff was dressed in white with tri-coloured sashes and they along with the students pledged to contribute in making India a force to reckon with.
The celebration ended with the singing of the National Anthem and the children enjoying laddoos.
