Shemrock Smiles students excel in collage making

Artsmart, a vibrant display-cum-sale of art and craft items prepared by students and staff was held at Shemrock Smiles, Mansa Devi Complex here today. Various competitions namely jigsaws/puzzles, colouring, collage making, draw and colour and best out of waste for age groups 1.8 years to 6.6 years were held for all the children.
In collage making competitions for 3.6 to 4.6 years, Shemrock Smiles cornered glory by winning all the first three positions. Siddharth Kairon, Angad Sharma and Udbhav finished in that order.
In Draw and Colour competitions for 4.6 to 5.6 years Muskan Dhiman of Bhavan Vidyalya, Panchkula grabbed the top position. Abhinandan (Tender Heart, Chd.) and Preeti Bhatia (GMSSS-19, Chd) finished second and third, respectively.
More than 150 children from the various schools of Panchkula and Chandigarh participated. Children created various items like photo frames, gift wrapping sheets, envelopes, cards, fire breathing dragons, marching sun, pen and pencil holders, slam books, decorative balls and baubles etc. with the help of their teachers for the Artsmart exhibition which were displayed and later sold to the parents.
The proceeds the children pledged to share with their needy friends. Also the work done by them during the academic year was displayed.
In the special section “ My Mom Made This” all the mothers brought in art and craft items made by them. These were displayed along side the things made by the children. All the participants were given a certificate of participation from the host school for encouragement
All the parents felt that it was one of the most “Creative Sunday” their children had spent. Prizes were awarded by the Director Teenu Jolly distributed the prizes.

Collage Making (3.6 to 4.6 years): 1 Siddharth Kairon (Shemrock), 2 Angad Sharma (Shemrock), 3 Udbhav (Shemrock)
Draw & Colour (4.6 to 5.6 years): 1 Muskan Dhiman (Bhavan Vidyalya, Pkl), 2 Abhinandan (Tender Heart, Chd.), 3 Preeti Bhatia (GMSSS-19, Chd).
Best out of waste (5.6 to 6.6 years): 1 Arrin Yadav (Hansraj, Pkl), 2 Gazleen Kaur (Shemrock), 3 Jayant Raina (Shemrock), Raizel Gupta (Sacred Heart).
Best entry from mothers: Mrs. Deepshikha Wadehra, mother of Mehak.
